Olive oil

Olive oil has a chemical composition very close to that of the human skin. Because of this, your skin may absorb this oil more easily than some other oils or moisturizers which may sit on the surface of the skin.

The use of olive oil for healing dates back centuries to the first known medical practitioner to use it in this manner, Hippocrates. The popularity of using olive oil progressed over centuries becoming a common remedy for many ailments by the middle ages. Roman medicine used olive oil for almost everything including skin problems, burns and wounds, infections and healing scars.

Why is olive oil so healing? It is high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that has free-radical fighting abilities which is likely what gives it the anti-inflammatory properties it has and speeds up wound healing. It has been shown to reduce signs of aging, fight oxidative stress, increase collagen, cleanse the skin, and promote wound healing.

This is why we use olive oil as the main carrier oil in our products!

coconut oil

The structural makeup of the fatty acids in coconut oil help it to assimilate quickly and completely into the body making it an ideal moisturizer.

The use of coconut oil dates back roughly 4,000 years to regions of Asia, South America, Central America and Polynesia. Early European explorers documented how coconut oil was used in almost every aspect of healing the mind, body and spirit.

What properties does coconut oil have? Coconut oil is believed to have antimicrobial properties helping to kill bacteria, fungal infections and viruses. It is believed to be wound healing and may soothe and support the skin. It is believed to repair dry and damaged skin, support moisture, enhance skin cell growth and boost circulation to the skin.

camellia seed oil

Camellia seed oil is derived from the seeds of Camellia fruits and has traditionally been used for over 1,000 years in China and Japan and is thought to be the secret behind their youthful skin.

Camellia Seed Oil has a similar chemical profile to Olive Oil, containing an even higher content of Oleic Acids. It is high in vitamin and mineral compounds making it skin rejuvenating, exceptionally hydrating, moisturizing, protective and has high antioxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant properties. It may help relieve dry skin and irritation, protect and rejuvenate skin, provide natural protective barrier, restore lipids, fight free radicals, contribute to skin elasticity and protect against irritants.
